Who it's for

You run the jobs. The numbers run you.

Tax Flow is for owners of contracting businesses: electricians, builders, landscapers, handymen and other trades. You're busy and profitable on paper, but taxes still show up as a surprise.

Surprised in April

Quarterly estimates get skipped or guessed, and the tax bill lands all at once.

Unsure what to pay yourself

Draws come out when there's cash in the account, not on a plan.

Pricing by feel

Bids cover materials and labor but not the real cost of running the business.

The weekly habit

Every Friday, know your numbers.

Tax Flow Friday is the center of the program. Once a week, before the weekend, you spend 15 to 20 minutes on the same short list. Small problems show up while they're still small, and tax time stops being a surprise.

What you check

  1. Deposits this week, split 25/10/65
  2. Balances in each account
  3. Quarterly estimate on track
  4. Owner pay on schedule
  5. Open invoices / AR
  6. Job costs vs. bid
  7. Bids out and won
  8. One thing to fix next week

Every deposit gets a job: 25 / 10 / 65

Each week, deposits are split three ways, so the money for taxes and profit is set aside before it gets spent.

Tax reserve25%
Profit10%
Operating65%, including owner pay

The method uses a 20–25% tax set-aside. Owner pay comes out of the 65%, on a schedule, not whenever there's cash.

You know how to work your business, but you don't know how your business works.

The program

Twelve months. Three workbooks. One rhythm.

You work with Padgett & Padgett every week for a full year. Each phase is built around one of Steve's three books, so the work stays on paper and on your desk instead of in your head.

Paid levels include a weekly Tax Flow email, a review of your numbers, and either a weekly video walkthrough or a weekly 30-minute Zoom with Steve's team.
